Far And Away was Friends’ second single, released in 12″ format only. The title track is one of the band’s most popular songs both live and broadcast, being a classic piece of romantic, acoustic pop with a nostalgic feel. Burning Bridges and Over And Over are in a harder, almost gothic mould with choruses of brass blasts alternating with vocals. The End Of The Affair is an elegiac acoustic number featuring mainly voice and acoustic guitar. Like the first album Let’s Get Away From It All, Far And Away is the definitive sound of early Friends from the late 80s.
